Show Notes: Author Dom Testa

Dom Testa is the bestselling author of more than 20 books, including six installments of the Galahad series -- the first of which (The Comet's Curse) won an International Grand Prize from Writer's Digest.

His new adventure series follows super-spy Eric Swan -- a happily married, deeply covert agent whose consciousness can be uploaded from one body to another when he dies. The most recent installment, Field Agent, was released in December.

We discuss the big ideas behind the Swan books, what life was like as an Air Force brat moving from Texas to Italy to Alaska every two years, the best one-sentence book review of all time, and which long-running TV series tops the list of all-time great spy stories. Plus, Dom shares some under-the-radar book and band recommendations.

And just like that, it's the first-ever episode of Something To Look Forward To, with author (and my father) Dom Testa. Enjoy.

THE ERIC SWAN SERIES

Testa’s latest creation may seem like a departure to fans of his young adult and nonfiction work. But every ingredient needed to conjure super-spy Eric Swan has been bubbling inside him for years — from interests dating to his nomadic, book-filled childhood to the kind of mature questions about science, love, and mortality rarely seen in genre thrillers.

THE GALAHAD SERIES

Before he wrote spy novels, Testa penned the six-book Galahad series for young adults. Based on the adventures of 251 teenagers sent to colonize a new world, the Galahad books were beloved for their portrayal of a diverse group of kids working together to save the human race.
